01Where it started

It started with a conversation at Lehigh.

Ovrture began in 2017, out of a conversation with Lehigh University about the limits of traditional, print-heavy campaign communications. The question underneath it was a simple one: why should the donors an institution depends on most receive the same printed report as everyone else?

The answer became the platform. Give every major donor a personalized website, built and kept current by the institution itself, that carries the case for a gift before it is made and reports the impact after. One place for the proposal and the stewardship that follows, at the level of the individual donor.

That is still the work. Ovrture builds the platform that lets an advancement team do it for every donor who matters, without a developer and without starting from a blank page each time.

02Foster Avenue

In partnership with Foster Avenue.

Ovrture works in a strategic partnership with Foster Avenue, a firm devoted to fundraising counsel and donor communications. The two share much of the same DNA, and the same point of view about how an institution should treat the donors who matter most.

From time to time they share the same clients. The partnership is close, and it shapes how Ovrture thinks about the work: the platform is built by people who understand the strategy behind the ask as well as the software that carries it.

03The company

Who we are.

Ovrture, spelled without an e, makes a personalized website for every major donor. Ovrture, Inc. is privately held and self-funded, owned and run by the people who built it, with no parent company. It is not affiliated with Ovrture, LLC, a Los Angeles creative studio that formerly used ovrture.co.

The platform launched in 2017, out of a firm that opened in 1982 as a fundraising communications agency for universities, hospitals, and cultural institutions: four decades of donor casework, made repeatable. Millions of our own dollars have been invested into the product: no venture capital, no private equity, no parent company, no outside vote on what we build.

Sixty-five institutions run on Ovrture today, on contracts that run multiple years and renew. Most were referred by a peer, or saw one present at a conference. Slow growth, but nobody vouching for us has anything to gain from whether you sign.

Who you will actually deal with

A small group of people, all of whom you'll know by name: the person who trains you is the person still on your account at renewal. Support and training are unlimited, with no tiers and no hourly help desk. Most institutions are live in about twelve weeks; we work remotely, your team builds the sites, and we teach alongside you.

What we are not going to oversell

We're a small company, and we'll say so. A team our size can't be everything a large vendor is, but it can answer the phone, know your institution without looking it up, and change the system because you asked. Our roadmap puts AI on the slowest parts of the job, gathering stories and drafting first passes, shipped carefully, never sold as a promise.

04Where it’s going

The orchestration layer on top of your CRM.

Your CRM holds the record: who your donors are, what they have given, and what they care about. It is your system of record, and it stays that way.

The final mile is the distance from that record to a proposal a specific donor will actually read, personal to their history and their reasons for giving. Done by hand, across a portfolio of 150 prospects, it has never been possible at scale.

Where Ovrture is going is to close that distance: to be the layer on top of your CRM that turns the record into a personal donor experience, and to let AI carry more of that work, grounded in your own data and real fundraising practice, without any of it leaving your environment.

The pieces are already in place: the CRM integration, the session-level engagement analytics, and the secure environment that more than 65 organizations run on today. The AI that draws on them is where the platform is headed next.
