Webinar Recap // ADRP + Boston University
We recently had the privilege of participating in an Association of Donor Relations Professionals webinar with our clients from Boston University focusing on analytics-driven impact reporting.
Asking and answering whether a donor clicked on a link is just the beginning. To fully leverage the potential of digital impact reporting, Boston University built a reporting strategy based upon the tools and business practices that answer far more textured and powerful questions:
What content captured their attention? How long did they review the content? Did they access the endowment report? Did the report spur action or result in new gifts?
How do we drive higher engagement (individually and in aggregate)? Where should this data be stored over the long term?
How did BU answer these questions in the webinar? The team at ADRP has graciously shared the webinar recording. You can watch it below.
If you’re short on time, here’s the TL; DW summary:
- Data-related considerations have continuously driven BU’s process forward
- By gathering both numbers and personal feedback, BU can use this information to improve the stewardship reporting process.
- Collaboration is crucial to weave the data and findings together.
- Build a cross-functional team for the best results and to build momentum
- Reminders work
- Open rates at BU increase nearly 25% with each subsequent reminder
- Story rich content works
- Donors pay attention to general university content
- Stewardship reports drive ROI
- BU received over $900,000 in new gifts after sending donor stewardship impact reports. They also gained over $700,000 in new gifts after sending financial reports.
We’d be happy to share the slides from the webinar with you. Drop us a line and we’ll pass them along.
We sincerely thank Lauren Edlund and Kathleen McCarthy from Boston University. They shared their knowledge and advice about digital stewardship. Additional thanks to ADRP for this opportunity to be an industry partner to the donor relations community.
