Ovrture is dedicated to making its platform accessible to everyone, including individuals with disabilities. We believe that accessibility is fundamental to creating an inclusive environment that empowers all users to engage with our tools and services.
Our Standard
We design and develop the Ovrture platform to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the technical standard developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI). WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the standard adopted by the U.S. Department of Justice under ADA Title II and is the most widely referenced accessibility benchmark across higher education and the nonprofit sector.
We are actively evaluating WCAG 2.2 Level AA criteria and working to align our platform with the latest W3C recommendations as part of our ongoing accessibility roadmap.
How We Validate Conformance
Our commitment to accessibility is backed by documented processes, not just good intentions.
Third-Party Audits. Independent accessibility experts have audited the most recent version of the Ovrture platform. Audit results are available through our Trust Center. Several existing clients have also conducted their own accessibility audits of the platform, and we have worked closely with each to address findings.
Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT). A current VPAT/Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR) for the Ovrture platform is maintained and updated at least annually. The VPAT is available through our Trust Center.
Testing Tools and Methodology. We utilize the accessibility testing suite from TPGi (ARC Toolkit), which evaluates conformance against WCAG 2.0, WCAG 2.1, EN 301 549, and Section 508 requirements. Our Quality Assurance team maintains current accessibility expertise through the DHS Trusted Tester certification program.
Keyboard Accessibility. Ovrture’s output — including sites and reports — can be fully navigated using only a keyboard, without requiring a mouse or trackpad.
No Overlays or Alternate Modes. Ovrture does not rely on accessibility overlays, “lite versions,” or alternate interfaces to meet accessibility requirements. Accessibility is built into the primary product experience.
Accessibility in Our Development Lifecycle
Accessibility is integrated into how we build and improve the Ovrture platform. We maintain documented processes for incorporating accessibility objectives into our development lifecycle and product roadmap. When accessibility issues are identified, they are tracked through our Change Management Board and prioritized for remediation.
A detailed accessibility roadmap with delivery timelines is available upon request.
Supporting Your Compliance Obligations
We understand that many of our clients — particularly institutions of higher education and nonprofit organizations — operate under regulatory requirements for digital accessibility, including ADA Title II, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and state-level mandates. Ovrture is committed to supporting our clients’ compliance efforts and will, to the fullest possible extent, meet WCAG 2.1 AA as part of our contractual agreements.
User-Generated Content
While we prioritize accessibility for all platform elements created by Ovrture, this policy does not extend to content uploaded or authored by our clients within the platform. We encourage our users to follow accessibility best practices to ensure their content reaches the broadest possible audience, and we are available to provide guidance on creating accessible content within Ovrture.
Reporting Accessibility Issues
If you encounter an accessibility barrier or have feedback about the accessibility of the Ovrture platform, we want to hear from you. Please contact us at contact@ovrture.com.
When reporting an issue, it is helpful to include a description of the problem, the page or feature where you encountered it, and the assistive technology you were using (if applicable). We will acknowledge your report and work to address the issue through our standard change management process.
Policy Review
As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we review this policy annually to stay aligned with evolving standards, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
